Mental Health Awareness Month

May 1-31

Founded in 1949 by Mental Health America, Mental Health Awareness Month is a special time for each of us to reflect on what can bring us joy and wholeness in a bustling world that never seems to be without challenges and strife. In the midst of it all, this year’s theme calls us to look for “More Good Days, Together.” As a healthcare community, we have the collective duty to ensure our physicians and APPs don’t suffer in silence. Joy in the practice of medicine is possible and achievable, if we continue to support advocacy and systemic efforts to reduce stressors that harm the well-being of our clinicians.

Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month with us by breaking down barriers for physicians and APPs to seek support and improving processes that increase fulfillment in their careers.

Daniel Saddawi-Konefka, MD & Ariel Brown, PhD discuss how systemic barriers for physicians and APPs can prevent them from seeking emotional self-care. The Emotional PPE Project serves to meet system needs for physicians and APPs to receive care that is personal and protected from potential stigma in the workplace.
