Stress Awareness Month
April 1-30
Stress Awareness Month affords us an opportunity to reflect on stressors affecting our health workforce and what we can do to not only mitigate stressors, but also stop the stigma of those experiencing stress. While it’s true that stress can lead to burnout and depression, displays of stress can help us identify the root causes that can leave a lasting impact on our healthcare workers, physicians, and APPs.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that more than 80% of American workers experience stress in the workplace, with more than half having workplace stress bleed into their home life. Let’s do our best to open an honest dialogue about pain points among your teams and what can be done to make things better. “Be the joy” isn’t just a mantra – it’s a charge to take action whenever possible for the well-being of all those we touch.
